It’s the season of Sagittarius! Sagittarius is the sign of optimism, excess and beliefs. Are you truly confident that you know what you know?
SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON ON DECEMBER 11 SUPPORTS THESE THEMES:
- Integrating wisdom
- Staying open to new insights
- Adaptation and flexibility
A New Moon each month is when the Moon is aligned near the Sun. This monthly meeting in the sky story is an opportunity to embody the essence of that particular Zodiac sign. Let’s explore the gifts of Sagittarius to align with cosmic time!
Sagittarius’s ruling planet is Jupiter. Since Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, there is tendency for excess and over the top activity. Do you have a budget for your holiday shopping? Be aware with your expenses as well as where you place your time and energy with commitments in the coming month.
Cool Your Fire with Sober Saturn
Sagittarius, like Aries and Leo, is one of the fire signs, fuels instinct and impulsive action. Sagittarius is sassy, standing up and speaking out. However, this month’s New Moon in Sag is tempered by serious Saturn. If you feel that life’s little details are too much for you, take some time out to reflect and review. Saturn, the lord of time, supports slowing down. He remains in the Zodiac sign of Sagittarius for about 2 1/2 years through the end of 2017. Saturn supports maintaining alignment and integrity. Remember:
- Watch your mouth
- Say what you mean, mean what you say
- Speak with integrity
Let’s look at what the other planetary players are saying at this New Moon Party. On December 11, 2015 the Sun and the Moon team up at 20 degrees Sagittarius. They are squared off to perfectly poised Jupiter in Virgo and the healing point Chrion in Pisces. Many things may feel magnified emotionally this month since Jupiter expands whatever it touches.
Jupiter in todays sky story is also opposite to the healing point Chiron in Pisces. As Jupiter and Chiron join the conversation, the potential is to dissolve boundaries or take your current experience to a higher octave. (Do these song lyrics sound familiar: I am you, and you are me and we are one, we are all together!) Current planet patterns suggest discernment and clarity are your greatest allies for the rest of this year and the coming months into 2016.
Supportive Suggestions for NEW MOON IN SAGITTARIUS:
- Keep your cool
- Get a reality check
- Don’t overdo it
- Align with the power of prayer
- Be mindful and respectful of your teachers
- Know what you are looking at
- Immerse yourself in activities to ignite enlightenment!
- Let go and let G-d
This New Moon is a perfect time to set clear intentions and create healthy boundaries on what you are willing or not willing to do. Sagittarius is about teaching, publishing and speaking, so speak up and speak your truth.
The symbol or glyph for Sagittarius is an arrow, which is a reminder to maintain focus. Don’t let your beliefs be diluted or swayed by others. Let go of distractions. Release limiting thought patterns, possessions or people in your life who you feel are are holding you back. Keep your eye on on your goals.
This Sagittarius New Moon holds some echoes from the recent September 12, 2015 Solar Eclipse. That eclipse was in the mutable sign of Virgo (Jupiter this week is now crossing the same point in the sky story, creating 90 degree angle or direct square to the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius). Ask yourself:
What are you working for? Is your work aligned with your beliefs?
Since many planets are aligned in the last sign of a season, it gives indication that times are changing. Contemplate, what needs to change in your life right now?
Ready or not, the Sagittarius New Moon is an opportunity to start over and reinvent yourself. Integration is required for balancing the concepts of focused action and going with the flow.
